Social impact in practice

ImPower helps people to get the best out of themselves. For this we use peer coaches who know the difficult reality of unemployment. A peer coach is an experienced coach who coaches on empowerment. They combine their own stories (experience) with adequate coaching skills and good knowledge of personal leadership. Peer coaches are easily approachable (accessible) for peers because they come “from the same world”. Before they started as peer coaches, they were, just like their peers now, unemployed.

In short: we enable job seekers, based on their own experiences and competencies (I am Power), to help other job seekers one or more steps further (I Empower).

In this way, over the past decade we have guided many hundreds of job seekers who needed a helping hand towards a good (paid) job. Much to the delight of these people and the company where they now work!

Peercoaches

Our first ‘secret‘ is that we are close to the people: we work with peer coaches who are not only well trained, they also know the unruly world from their own experience. Whatever your background, at ImPower you will find a coach who knows your world.

Development

The second pillar is that we are not people 'mediate' (we are not a temporary employment agency) but we help people develop. This also includes coaching you very specifically towards work or training. Everyone who enters ImPower comes away stronger.

Entrepreneurship

Our last 'secret' is that we are an enterprising club with roots in business. We have extensive knowledge of people development and public-private partnerships.

Founders

ImPower was founded by Arjan te Wierik and Peter Fekkes.

In 2013, Arjan (then area manager Social Projects at Nuon) developed the ImPOWER concept together with Peter (personal leadership trainer), based on the experience that there was and is a lot of discussion. about job seekers, but very few with them.
After intensive training, ImPOWER uses the strength and experience of job seekers to inspire and activate other job seekers. With results! The concept has been running successfully for several years in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Arnhem.

In 2018 Arjan and Peter founded ImPower, social impact company .
